Pittock Mansion

Built in 1909 as home to publisher of local newspaper The Oregonian, Henry Pittock; Pittock Mansion opened to the public in 1965 as a museum. The building was made in a French Renaissance château style, and is situated on the West Hills, overlooking Portland. The inside of the mansion is beautifully ornate with old woodwork, marble staircases, an elaborate dining room, and numerous works of art. Outside the mansion, lush greenery surrounds the property, and offers a spectacular view. The museum charges a small admission fee to get an up-close look at this fantastic old building.
